Biofilm matrix cloaks bacterial quorum sensing chemoattractants from predator detection. The authors describe a microbial-based anti-detection adaptation, “biofilm cloak”, where the biofilm prey produced biofilm matrix exopolysaccharides that “locked” and reduced the leaching of autoinducers.
