Observation
The tawny-flanked prinia egg colors and patterns aid host parents to recognize their own eggs. These eggs are mimicked by the cuckoo finch, but they are not able to mimic olive-green ones. The authors think that a genetic constraint makes the African cuckoo finch unable to mimic this host egg type.
