Observation
The oak gall borer, Synanthedon decipiens, emerging from a stem gall induced by the cynipid wasp Callirhytis quercusbatatoides on the southern live oak, Quercus virginiana. The adult is also an excellent wasp mimic. Posted by Scott P. Egan @scottpegan on X
