Ants as pest control. This paper shows that services provided by ants to crops outweigh the disservices. Ants decrease the abundance of non-honeydew-producing pests, decrease plant damage and increase crop yield, but decrease the abundance of natural enemies, and increase honeydew-producing pest abundance.
